20-Year Firm Energy Contract Awarded | 6,508 MWh/day @ $16.40/MWh | XM / CREG
1. Project Overview
TermoInduEnergy – NENCOL 5 (Phase 1) is Colombia's only Firm Energy Obligation (OEF) awarded LNG-to-Power project. On May 22, 2026, following the Colombian Government's issuance of Resolution 101 079/2025 on August 27, 2025, TermoInduEnergy – NENCOL 5 was awarded a 20-year Firm Energy Contract (Cargo por Confiabilidad) through the XM-administered Fifth Long-Term Energy Auction — the most competitive and rigorous qualification process in the Colombian power sector.
Phase 1 aggregates three fully permitted, bid-ready power generation modules — Termobonda (NENCOL 2), Termocosta (NENCOL 3), and Termogaira (NENCOL 4), each rated at 94 MW — delivering up to 282 MW of dispatchable generation capacity to the Colombian National Interconnected System (SIN). The full project envelope is rated at 2,240 MW.
The project is developed by ZeuzCorp Corporation and POWERCOL BCG CORP through the registered generation entity Nodo Energético de Norte de Colombia S.A. ESP, with EPC execution by PowerChina under a Lump-Sum Turnkey (LSTK) contract valued at $195.2 million for the three 94 MW modules.
